Free JAWS Webinars

Webinars can be a helpful resource to learn about technology, especially when they provide detailed step-by-step instructions for how to use programs. Freedom Scientific has run paid webinars for many years, but has recently made archives of these webinars available free to everyone.

The previously paid webinars now available for free include:

• PowerPoint 365/2016 with JAWS (three-part series)
• Excel 365/2016 with JAWS (three-part series)
• Outlook 365/2016 with JAWS (three-part series)
• Word 365/2016 with JAWS (three-part series)

Some of the other helpful webinars, which have always been free, include:

• Using Office 365 (Online) with JAWS
• Using Track Changes in Microsoft Word with JAWS
• Using Google Docs and Sheets with JAWS and MAGic

It is important that students who use screen readers are able to effectively use word processing and other productivity products both online and offline. I hope that these webinars will prove useful as you work with your students on refining these skills.

I have worked in various roles in the field of visual impairment since 2007. In addition to working as a teacher of students with visual impairments, I recently completed coursework to become an orientation and mobility specialist. I have been fortunate to work with the fantastic team at PRCVI since 2014.

I enjoy many aspects of my role at PRCVI, but highlights include working with teachers of students with visual impairments and their students on outreach visits and working on PRCVI initiatives and projects.

Outside of work, my interests include reading, computer programming, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
